Multi-User Simple Authorization Script

Installation Instructions
  1. Download Multi-User Simple Authorization Script.
  2. Unpack the zip file.
  3. Open and configure the config.php file.
    • Set the variable enableadmin to 1 or 0 (1="enabled").
    • Set the variable enableguest to 1 or 0 (1="enabled").
    • Change the variable adminpassword to the password you would like to use for administrators.
    • Change the variable guestpassword to the password you would like to use for guest visitors.
    • If you prefer to use a single password, change the variable singlepassword.
    • If you are NOT using the user-requested password reset facility, change forgotten_reset to "false".
    • Optional: Change the variable cookiename.
    • Optional: Change the variable two_times if you do NOT want two different log-in periods.
    • Optional: Change the expiry time 1 (expirytime1). Default is 1 hour.
    • Optional: Change the expiry time 2 (expirytime2). Default is 1 week.
    • Optional: You can change the look of the login page by altering the function "show_login_page", but DO NOT DELETE ANY FORM INPUTS and DO NOT ALTER THE HIDDEN INPUT. We also request that you leave the footer credit as is.
  4. Add the following line to the page you wish to password protect. This line should be included as the first line in php.
    • require('musas.php');
  5. Optional: Add a logout button or logout text string to your password protected pages. Place the following line of php code on your password protected page where you want the display the logout button/text string.
    For a logout button, use the php code:
    • <?=$logout_button?>
    For a logout text string, use the php code:
    • <?=$logout_text?>
  6. Edit the nameslist.php file to set up your pseudo-database, leaving the last line (DummyZ) as the last line and ensuring that passwords are md5-encoded. You can find a good md5 encoder here.
  7. Upload musas.php, nameslist.php, login.css, config.php and your password protected page in the same folder on your server.
